This has been one of my favorite summers of CCFD history. Wanna hear the highlights?
-OUR BRIDES. I have so enjoyed the brides we have worked with this summer. Somewhere along the way our brides started trusting us to be DESIGNERS we are. They value our opinion and are letting us run with and contribute to their vision. Because of this newfound freedom and trust, our designs are fresh, fun, and fashion forward. And we're finding that in the end, our brides are happier than ever. This of course, makes us happy too!
-INTERNS. Why it has taken 6 seasons of weddings to finally take the plunge and take on some interns, I know not. What I do know is that these 3 very special women have taken up residence in my heart and not only have they been a blessing to my business, but their joy and excitement has been a personal blessing and a reminder that we are lucky to do what we love.
-LEARNING. At the beginning of the season, we took a couple of days to fly over to California and learn from some of our very favorite floral design geniuses. I mean these girls set the standard and we have been following their designs and style for several years. Their class was one of the highlights of my career as a floral designer and reminded me the importance of always learning, always growing, and always being willing to take new risks. More on that later, but if you follow us on Instagram (and you should..."coricookfloral"), you will likely see a new style of design that is emerging that is influenced by this wonderful experience. As I said, more on this later (:
-LIZ. If you don't know Liz, you should. This girl is amazing. I am so thankful for her talent, friendship, and work ethic. She is a rare gem. Last season we brought Liz on as our first lead designer beside myself and it has been a match made in heaven. Our clients are insanely happy with her work and the way they feel cared for by her during the planning process. She adds so much to our team. We love you, Liz!
Enjoy this lovely barn wedding below. Photography is by my new friend, June Cochran. She is fantastic. McKenzie: What fun it was to work with you! Wishing you and Sean a lifetime of marital bliss---CONGRATS!!!
