]]>Winter Wedding in Estes Park | The Della Terra | Molly + Zachhttp://www.coricook.net/home/2012/3/2/winter-wedding-in-estes-park-the-della-terra-molly-zach.htmlCori Cook Floral Design2012-03-02T14:59:06Z2012-03-02T14:59:06ZWinter weddings are some of my favorite to design!  Maybe it's because they are few and far between in a state that could either be an insane blizzard or beautiful and sunny on any given day in January.  Either way, I adore the textures, colors, and types of flowers that are available in January.  And when we go with the season and what florals are available in their prime, it adds to my glee.  

Molly was a joy to work with, and I know I say this a lot, but her and Zack are beautiful people.  They are obviously a gorgeous pair, but they are also gracious, kind, and overall beautiful inside and out.  I so enjoyed working with them!  

For Molly & Zach's winter wedding in Estes Park, at the Della Terra Mountain Château, we designed florals that were both modern and seasonal.  We used beautiful, white amaryllis, freesia, black and white anenomes, silver brunia, mini pinecones, roses, dusty miller, pine branches, eucalyptus, and blue privet berries.  Oh, how I love how these bouquets and centerpieces turned out.  For centerpieces, we designed in lovely birch wrapped pots and used full sized pinecones.  Cozy accents like sweater-wrapped vases, yarn balls, and wood rounds were used as accents on escort card tables, cocktail tables, and a beautiful table full of wedding pictures from the bride and groom's families.  

Congrats, Molly & Zach!  Enjoy marriage.  It's the best thing ever!

Most of our bride have a common love and appreciate for great floral design.  They can often be heard at consultations saying things like, "I just love all flowers..." Just like them, Kate has a passion for flowers.  So much so that she has created her own floral design business in Southern California and is doing quite well.  So it was a huge honor to be chosen as the person to design her flowers.  We used all kinds of cheery blooms like coral peonies, peony-tulips, kumquat vine, parrot tulips, ranunculus, and poppies.  What fun! 

We also love how her paperware was consistent, lively, and cohesive with the style of the wedding.  This is a new passion of ours...more on that to come very, very soon...so stay tuned!!!

This summer, we went on a mission to find the perfect florist apron.  We searched high and low for aprons that were both functional and adorable.  Our findings = NOTHING.  Turns out someone, somewhere decided that florist aprons should all be boring, solid colors, and basically no fun.  Of course we wanted pattern, ruffles, embroidery, and functionality. So, we set out to have ours custom-designed.  Luckily, we found Aurora at Fabric Bliss who was willing to help us with our mission.  With the help of her brilliant mother and seamstress, Jude, we were able to design this masterpiece.  It has everything a florist could want in an apron.  It's got ruffles, a big floret pin, patterns, and tear-proof and waterproof lined deep pockets that hold all our tools during a big install.  We're in love.

]]>Cori Cook Floral Design at The Oxford Hotel, Denver | Camille + Rickyhttp://www.coricook.net/home/2012/1/11/cori-cook-floral-design-at-the-oxford-hotel-denver-camille-r.htmlCori Cook Floral Design2012-01-11T15:43:52Z2012-01-11T15:43:52ZI know, I know!  I haven't blogged in weeks!  I had a wonderful holiday season and made it my mission to take some much-needed time off.  I did - and it was glorious.  But, about half way through, I started to feel the itch to get back to work.  Time off helps me realize how much I actually love my job and how it is PASSION that keeps me going those long summer months.  Cori Cook Floral Design is blowing up with some really exciting new developments...which we will be rolling out in the next month or so...so stay tuned!  You won't want to miss it.

On another note, please enjoy this beauty of a wedding that we designed for in early October.  This bride and her sweet mom were great to work with and had so many ideas for keeping it fresh and fun, but with a very classy vibe.  I think it turned out perfect.  We used deep fall colors like burgundies, burnt oranges, eggplants, and emeralds to compliment their choice of champagne bridesmaid dresses and linens.  I also loved the way the ballroom at The Oxford Hotel looked with tons of candlelight.  It was very moody and romantic.  Enjoy this lovely wedding!

Camille got ready at the beautiful Ritz Carlton, Denver.  

For Ricky's Boutonnières, we used pheasant feathers, eucalyptus leaves, and ranunculus.  I love how it turned out. 

For the ceremony, we loaded up a dresser with varying heights of pillar candles in glass cylinder vases, votives, and taper candles.  Then, we reused these same vases as centerpieces after the ceremony.

 

We designed two types of centerpiece for her guest tables.  One was a fabric covered box with a lush arrangement of florals and a gold manzinita branch with hanging votives.  The other was an all candle centerpiece with mixed pillar candles and votives.  Both centerpieces had velvet banding and brooch detail.
