Della Terra Wedding Florist | Cori Cook + Audrey Hannah

I just love the textures and colors for this beautiful Della Terra wedding we did in August!  Isn't it lovely?  And I love when our flowers get to be the only "pop" of color in a wedding against darker, contrasting bridesmaid dresses!

One of our favorite things about this season was getting to design for more weddings in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  We have designed for numerous weddings now at the Della Terra in Estes Park, and love this venue.  Not only is it a gorgeous location for a wedding, but their staff is super accommodating and stress free!  If you're looking for a venue in the mountains, you should definitely check it out!

Love these sassy bridesmaids!

The Bridal Bouquet was made of calla lilies, "Patience" garden roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, astible, and veronica.  I love how it turned out!

Style Me Pretty Feature | Cori Cook + Audrey Hannah Photo

Today is a good day!  It's the day I get to show my readers one of our most unique Cori Cook Floral Design weddings of the season.  AND...it happens to also featured on Style Me Pretty today!  Click here to see the feature!  It is always an honor to be featured on Style Me Pretty as it is one of the premier resources in the country for wedding planning and inspiration.  If you are planning on getting married anytime soon and need some ideas, you should definitely get to know it.

I knew I wanted to work with Stephanie from our initial consultation.  Her ideas were so unique, fun, and well-coordinated.  I love a themed event, so this one was right up our alley.

We incorporated her subtle bird theme into her floral arrangements by using twisted curly willow in all her arrangements.  For her bridesmaid bouquets, we twisted "nests" of curly willow and used interesting, textural florals with highly saturated greens to "pop" against the neutral dresses.  And it worked.

We also collaborated on her centerpieces and I love how they turned out.  Stephanie designed large sqaures of patterned fabric that set the stage for a unique mix of cracked pot arrangements, apothecary jars, bells jars, mercury glass votives, and a block-font table number sat on.  Each centerpiece was a different variation of this mix.  Bell jars held nests with robin's eggs and moss.

Audrey Hannah Photo photographed the wedding and did a stellar job as usual.  I adore her work, but always appreciate her ability to pose the perfect shot and capture details beautifully.  Check out her blog post on the same wedding here.

Enjoy this lovely wedding and please leave a comment!

The Bridal Bouquet was a rounded, hand-tied bouquet of white ranunculus with a twisted curly willow wreath and star of Bethlehem border.

Bridesmaid Bouquets were hand-tied bouquets of twisted curly willow wreaths, green hydrangea, green roses, scabiosa pods, white scabiosa flowers, green hypericum berries, white veronica, green cymbidium orchids, and green hanging amaranthus.  We hand-tied their bouquets in strips of patterned fabrics.

The Groomsmen Boutonnieres were made of the eye of a peacock feather, twisted curly willow pieces, and green cymbidium orchids.

The Groom's Boutonniere was made of white ranunculus, star of bethlehem, and twisted curly willow pieces to match the bridal bouquet.

For Stephanie's Aisle, we used an eclectic mix of mismatched bird cages and a mixture of large and tall cracked Anthropologie pot arrangements.  I loved how it turned out.  Best of all, we were able to re-purpose all the arrangements after the ceremony to be centerpieces.

Best response to a Groom seeing his Bride...EVER!

Escort Cards were lined up on a vintage door with ribbon clotheslines running across.

Collaborative Photoshoot | Unique, Denver Wedding Flowers

It's the first day of Fall!  So I thought it was appropraite to share this beautiful photoshoot with all it's autumn-colored-gloriousness!  I am going crazy with excitement, so please excuse the super-long intro of this photoshoot!

This shoot was truly labor of love!  Two of my favorite friends (Audrey of Audrey Hannah Photo & Vanessa of Flourish Studio Photography) and I got together last Spring and asked the question, "What would we do if we could have complete design control of a wedding?"  Collectively, we have found that brides often get locked into only using two colors or trying to recreate a wedding they have seen in a magazine.  The result is a style that is boring and overused.  Instead, we wanted to give our readers a glimpse into a creative world that could be their wedding if they just hired the right wedding pros and trusted them with making that vision come alive!  AKA: Hire us and we'll make all your dreams come true (:  Ha ha!

We wanted to make the shoot easy on the environment, so we committed to only using things that were reused and environmentally friendly.  All the crystal glassware and all the books were found at local thrift and antique stores.  The brides tea-length gown is designed by Adele Wechsler, and was made from environmentally-friendly fabrics.  Many of the flowers were Colorado-grown and all were purchased from a local wholesaler.  All accessories were borrowed.  The idea was that nothing we used was brand new.  Everything was reused and can be reused again!

Once the ideas were flowing between the three of us, we decided we needed some coordination and design help and called the amazing Ashley from Table 6 Productions.  Ashley helped our ideas come together and came up with the idea of hand-making a table runner out of old book pages.  We knew we wanted a literature theme and this was the perfect way to get it going!

Little did I know that I would develop some really amazing friendships during this process.  Moving to a new state and starting a business by yourself can often be lonely, so I have been so thankful for the great friendships made through the coordination of this shoot...

Lastly, I want to thank all the amazing wedding pros that put their hearts into this shoot!  It was an honor to work with each of you and I look forward to hopefully doing it more!  Here is the rundown:

...Okay, one more thing...I love comments about what you think about the shoot!  Just saying...(:

Notice the vintage book-page runner...Brilliant idea, Ashley!

To incorporate the literature theme into the bouquets, I used pages from an antique book and gave a few of the bouquets book-page loops around the border!  I love how they turned out!

Top Left: Coral Peonies with Viburnum Border, Top Right: Daisies with book-page border, Bottom Left: Yellow Button Mums with book-page border, Bottom Right: Baby's Breath with Dusty Miller Border.

Coral Peonies.  They are so beautiful, I can barely stand it!

Vintage Trunk full of yellow tulips, green cockcomb, rosemary, oncidium orchids, viburnum, & baby's breath...So lovely.

 Planted Kale Arrangements.

Right: I love putting this much details into my boutonnieres.  Rosemary Spring, lily grass loops, billy balls, and buttons, hand-tied in natural twine and adorned with a vintage love quote.  Left: Antique cigar box with a selection of boutonnieres for the shoot.

Left: A favor!  A bunch of Rosemary, held together by burlap and a fabric covered button.  Ready to be planted.  Right: Bridal Bouquet of Kale and Billy Balls.  Hand-tied in vintage book-pages and adorned with billy ball "buttons."

And now, my absolute favorite pictures from the day!  (Below)
