The Oxford Hotel | Denver Wedding | Cori Cook Floral Design

Peonies in August?!  Wait...what?

Making brides happy on their wedding day is what makes us most fulfilled in our job here at Cori Cook Floral Design.  So my heart broke for Kelley at our first consultation when she explained that she planned her wedding date around wanting peonies EVERYWHERE...only to realize she had gotten some misinformation about when they are actually available.  So she went from florist to florist only to hear that she couldn't get peonies in August.  I figured it was a long shot, but told her I would look into a resource I had recently heard of---peony growers in Alaska.

After a little bit of research, I got in touch with an AMAZING resource in Alaska who assured us we could definitely get the peonies we wanted.  So Kelley got her wish after all: Peonies in August!  And we got ours too: Another happy bride!  Our work here is done (:

New Year's Eve Extravaganza | CCFD + We Tie The Knots

This is one of those times where I can confidently say...photos just just can't capture the beauty and magic of this wedding. What a way for us at CCFD to end 2012---With a bang! And lots of glitter and sequins! (Thank you La Tavola Linens for indulging our not-so-secret love of glitter and sequins).

Everything in this festive New Year's Eve wedding came together perfectly, from the event decor to the escort card displays, to the centerpieces. An "Extravaganza" is literally the only way to put it. Through the brilliance of Christyn at We Tie the Knots, Tricia and Eric's vision to have a "Bohemian Chic" wedding came to life! All elements of the wedding uniquely captured who Tricia and Eric are and also their incredible love story. Oh how I wish that photos could show just how perfectly flawless this wedding was!

My favorite thing about designing this wedding??...New designs and new challenges. Elaborate and glamorous ribbon treatments for the bridal and bridesmaids (a must-have in my opinion), a hanging manzanita branch arrangement over the head table, an antique frame filled with a bed of blush and ivory flowers. What's not to love?

Tricia and Eric - what a amazing thing it was to be a part of your wedding day and all the planning leading up to it. You two are a gift! Couldn't think of a better way to end the year.  Cheers! -Liz

Keystone Wedding | Cori Cook Floral Design | Courtney + Ben

Looking back through the photos of this wedding we did last season in Keystone makes me wish for summer to arrive.  The evenings where it doesn't get dark until 9pm and Colorado is its full glory...but, alas!  Colorado weather continues to surprise us with a mind of it's own.  It teases us with the occasional 70 degrees, but then dashes my dreams with another snow day like today.

It doesn't matter.  Summer is alive in our hearts.  We at Cori Cook Floral Design are ramping up for our sixth season of weddings and I have to say, that we're more excited than ever.  We have all kinds of amazing weddings booked this year, from the casual to the extravagant.  As another season approaches, we are overwhelmed with the feeling that we are really blessed to get to live our dream and do work that makes our hearts happy!  What are you most excited about this summer?

Enjoy this lovely, casual wedding with the sweetest bride and groom ever...

Denver Wedding | Grey & Yellow | Particulars + Cori Cook Floral Design

My very favorite colors and flowers came together this fall for one beautiful wedding at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.  A punchy grey, yellow, and white color palette was played out with yellow garden roses, billy balls, oncidium orchids, airplants, and pieris...

There are only a few weeks here in Denver that my favorite little draping accent flower, pieris, is available, and much to my delight, this was it's glory week.  You should hear the squeals around here when pieris proudly enters the studio.  It's kind of ridiculous that this little flower creates such a commotion.  But it totally does.  See it peeking out of the girl's bouquets, creating the perfect draping effect?

This wedding really was a joy to be a part of.  I always love an opportunity to work with Emily of Particulars and the ways she adds fun to every event!

Enjoy this lovely wedding.  And feel free to leave a comment expressing your love for that pieris (:

Westin Beaver Creek Wedding | Alison + Scot

Romantic. Glamorous. Elegant. Everything that represents Scot and Alison's picture perfect wedding at the Westin Riverfront in Beaver Creek. Alison looked like a princess in her amazingly ruffled wedding gown and was absolutely glowing with joy. Just look at the expression on her face! The flowers seemed to match the mood of the wedding perfectly: Soft blush and ivory florals with a little touch of crystal bling...romantic and delicate, but with a little spunk. And my favorite part of the design definitely had to be the two giant crystal candelbras displayed on the head table with lush hydrangeas, roses, stock, and berzillia berries.

Scot and Alison, what a gift it was to work with you! Your excitement about flowers makes me love my job even more!  Love, Liz
