The Oxford Hotel | Denver Wedding | Cori Cook Floral Design

Peonies in August?!  Wait...what?

Making brides happy on their wedding day is what makes us most fulfilled in our job here at Cori Cook Floral Design.  So my heart broke for Kelley at our first consultation when she explained that she planned her wedding date around wanting peonies EVERYWHERE...only to realize she had gotten some misinformation about when they are actually available.  So she went from florist to florist only to hear that she couldn't get peonies in August.  I figured it was a long shot, but told her I would look into a resource I had recently heard of---peony growers in Alaska.

After a little bit of research, I got in touch with an AMAZING resource in Alaska who assured us we could definitely get the peonies we wanted.  So Kelley got her wish after all: Peonies in August!  And we got ours too: Another happy bride!  Our work here is done (:

The Oxford Hotel | Denver Wedding Flowers | Kate & Derek

I am finally getting around to blogging the past few months' weddings!  It's been crazy here as we prepare for our Summer of 2011.  We're so excited about this year and are beginning to book up for 2012, so call us to schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss your wedding!

This wedding was such a fun one for me.  I loved Kate so much.  She was as sweet on the inside as she is beautiful on the outside!  Plus, as much as I love funky, wild, out-of-the-box designs, I'm always a sucker for a classically elegant wedding like this one.  The colors were black and white.  We designed simple calla lily bouquets that were hand-tied in black statin ribbon with a beautiful vintage lace overlay.

Enjoy!

Congrats Kate & Derek!!!

Winter Whites - Denver Collaborative Styled Shoot | The Oxford Hotel

Baby, it's cold outside...No, I'm serious!  It really is.  10 degrees in Denver to be exact.  And dropping.  So I thought it would warm our hearts to see this beautiful winter wedding shoot photographed by the talented Laura Murray!

Laura and I have a budding new friendship, so when she asked me to design a few bouquets for this winter whites shoot, I knew I wanted to be involved!  Turns out I made some other new friends in the process whom I would highly recommend to anyone planning a wedding!  Here is the list of Denver wedding pros that made this shoot so lovely:

Photography: Laura Murray Photography
Florals: Cori Cook Floral Design
Dessert Set Up: Lemon Sprinkle Events
Make Up: Jenny Van Tuine (Email her at beautyiswithin.jenny@gmail.com
Invitations & Stationary: Papertalk Press
Gowns & Headpieces: Blue Bridal Couture
Venue: The Oxford Hotel

Now, sit back, grab a warm beverage, and enjoy!

An all white ranunculus bouquet with a sweet "something blue" tulle tutu.

I'm so into this style right now!  A custom-designed rosette bouquet.  Perfect for a stylish, romantic wedding.  It's one rose with petals glued in to make this rose appear to be a giant, garden rose.  Beauty!

Simple, sweet, and affordable, this Baby's Breath Bouquet is perfect for a bride with a flirty sense of style.  Hand-tied in a petite strand of white pearls.

Jaclyn, of Lemon Sprinkle Events, designed this lovely display of desserts.  She is fantastic, by the way.  If you are going the style dessert table/candy table route, she is your girl!

Sneak Peak | Photoshoot at the Oxford Hotel

Just a quick peak into a photoshoot we worked on this week with the fabulous Laura Murray!  A romantic bouquet of all white ranunculus (my husband's proclaimed favorite flower---don't tell him I told you!) with a fluffy, tulle border.  More to come...
